Courage Campaign played major roles in four different marriage equality efforts (Maine ‘09, New Hampshire ‘11, North Carolina ‘12 and Washington ‘12, among others). Our members contributed over $150,000 to win, while we deployed staff in each location to help manage online efforts on the ground and run member GOTV.
6 states -- including Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Texas -- think they are above the law of the land and are refusing to allow same-sex married couples in the National Guard to register for spousal benefits despite a federal mandate. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has ordered “immediate action” for these states to comply with the law, but so far they are not backing down. He's on our side, but now we need to make him finish the job.
Now that marriage is legal in 3 additional states, we need to Dump DOMA so these impending newlyweds have the 1,138 federal rights they deserve. Sign up for our campaign!

We're 3 for 3 in the courts on Prop 8: on June 5th, the 9th Circuit denied an attempt to rehear and possibly overturn the decision declaring Prop 8 unconstitutional. The case is now set to head to the Supreme Court, the biggest stage of all, and we need your support to win.

On May 8th, North Carolina will vote on Amendment One, which bans marriage equality and any other form of recognition for same-sex couples. Polls show the public increasingly against Amendment One, but our opponents just began running an ad this weekend that spreads lies about same-sex families and urges a Yes vote on Amendment One. Our side has ads of its own, but we need the money to get them on the air.
We're launching a campaign to make sure the DNC chips in to fight for equal rights at the ballot in 2012 as they did in 2008 to fight Prop 8. The DNC jointly raised $29.1 million in January alone -- they can chip in a fraction of that to help fight for equal rights. We've had Democrats' backs in the voting booth for years -- help make sure they have ours at the ballot.
The 9th Circuit overturned Prop 8, but there's another stay on the decision. People in same-sex couples are literally dying to get married while the Prop 8 trial drags on. Ask the courts to honor Valentine's Day and lift the Prop 8 stay!
We're 2 for 2 in the courts on defeating Prop 8. Now comes the big stage. Our opponents, ProtectMarriage.com and the National Organization for Marriage have already stated they're planning to take this case all the way to the Supreme Court to make sure California same-sex couples remain second-class citizens. They're all in. We have to be too.
