Sign the petition for debt-free college

Our goal is for presidential candidates and the entire Democratic Party to make debt-free college central to 2016 messaging -- and it's working. Presidential candidates are starting to talk about the issue. But we need your help to build on this momentum!

Tell Governor Jerry Brown: Make Higher Education FREE in California

Nothing is more vital to rebuilding a thriving economy in California than access to affordable higher education. Our state's investment in higher education was central to building the 8th largest economy in the world, but today, our visionary higher education system -- revered by generations of Californians -- is on the brink of extinction. Join us to call on Gov. Brown to stop the downward spiral, honor his father’s legacy, and articulate a renewed vision for higher education in California.

Tell your CA Legislators: Help put a nurse and librarian in every California school!

California’s students deserve better. After years of budget cuts, most of our students have no access to medical care or counseling services during the school day and library hours at their schools have been cut back dramatically, but there is a new initiative in Sacramento that could help change that. It’s called "Healthy Kids, Healthy Minds" and would be implemented through Assembly Bill 1955.

$1 Billion for California Higher Education: Say NO to Big Oil!

Today 40 million Americans hold more than $1.2 Trillion in student debt and it's suffocating our economy. It wasn't so long ago that California prioritized providing an accessible, debt-free higher education that ignited our economy, providing good jobs and an educated workforce. We can change this by joining all other major oil producing states -- like Texas and Alaska -- and passing an oil extraction tax to fund higher education. Let your representatives in Sacramento know you’re watching and help give them the courage to stand up to Big Oil.
